Honeymoon suggestions

Does anyone have suggestions for honeymoon trips? Somewhere warm but new and different (vs. Cabo for example) would be ideal...

You guys have so many options that I'd base it on where the dollar is strong. It's basically like getting a free upgrade on your hotel, meals, etc.

Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Fiji, Thailand... any of those have a great combo of warm beaches and being a little bit at least off the beaten path.

I think I'd look at a place where you can't see yourself going in 10 years. I think a lot of people go the "sit on the beach" route without thinking about the fact that resorts are always going to be available. Honeymoons are one of the few times -- at least for most people -- when they get an extended time off from work with no strings attached. I'd say challenge yourself. Take the Orient Express across Russia. Or truck through Africa. Sail around Indonesia. After you've seen something together that you couldn't have imagined seeing before, then celebrate with a week on the beach to close the trip. You'll have earned it.

I'll chime in that you are beyond pooped after the wedding (and planning) process. It's nice to go somewhere and VEG for a bit and rehash all the wedding excitement with your new Mr. or Mrs. However, I do agree with Chris that this is one of the few times you can convince your manager that you deserve a month off! ;) So, make it exotic and somewhere you can't go any-ol-time, but be sure and give yourselves some time to luxuriate in the beginning of the trip... cause the last thing you want to do after a crazy wedding weekend is hike.

Good point Carrie! It sounds great to go on a big adventure now, before the whole fabulous but exausting experience but we will definitely keep in mind to make it a "pampered" adventure.
