San Francisco to Seattle Road Trip - December 13-14, 2007

Kate and I took off from San Francisco on Thursday morning with no set plans as to where we were going to sleep for the night. We had the pipe dream of making it all the way to Portland, Oregon but did not know if we could handle driving that far (about 630 miles!). We were delayed by a major injury accident and the subsequent detour because I-5 was closed in Colusa County south of Lake Shasta. Lake Shasta, where we love to go wakeboarding and hang out during the dreary San Francisco summers, lo… Continue

Athens, Greece July 15th-17th, 2007

Sunday, July 15th

We took a "fast" ferry to Athens from Paros that was supposed to take 3.5 hours, as opposed to the slow ferry, that took 4.5 hours. In actuality, the fast ferry took almost 5 hours counting the delay at the beginning. It was ridiculously windy so the seas were high and the ferry, which was a monstorously large contraption, had to take it slow. Santorini, Greece July 8th-11th, 2007

Sunday, July 8th

We flew to Santorini from Thessaloniki late on Sunday night and had arranged to get picked up at the airport by the staff at Hotel Drossos over email. They picked us up and drove us to the hotel, which was very close to Perissa Beach on the southeast coast of Santorini.

Monday, July 9th

Since we arrived at night and by plane, we still had no idea what Santorini looked like w… Continue

Samothraki and Alexandroupolis, Greece July 3rd-5th, 2007

Tuesday, July 3rd

We took a long bus from Istanbul, Turkey to Alexandroupolis, Greece in the morning. We met a shuttle bus that took us to the Otogar (bus station) at 8 am and took two shuttles before we actually got on our bus which left at 10 am. Terribly inefficient but the bus that we took to Alexandroupolis was pretty nice and we got there around 3 pm. We found the ferry booking company after asking in a hotel and realized we had to call an audibl

Istanbul, Turkey July 1st-2nd, 2007

Sunday, July 1st

We woke up feeling great and were psyched that we had got such a good night sleep in preparation for the Radar Live music festival we were going to that night. Groove Armada was on tap so we knew it was going to be an epic night. The other nights of the festival had people I definitely did not want to see like Marilyn Manson so one night figured to be enough for us. We changed hotels to move to one of the are… Continue
